“One thing that frustrated me as a new widow was that there were plenty of opportunities, it seemed, to sit around and share sad stories and pass around the Kleenex box. But at a certain point, I wanted to be pointed forward- to be helped back on my feet and learn ways of coping with my “new normal.” But that was hard to find!”
Liane Laurion, Director, Widow Services, widowed in 2017
Wings for Widows now fills that need to move forward—and the opportunity came as a result of Covid in 2020!
Starting this Fall, two Wednesday evenings a month, you can join ‘Arise – A Widows’ Forum’ via Zoom. Our speakers have expertise in grief counseling, self-care, personal coaching; some are nationally known authors and directors. The hour-long call provides a safe community in which to relax, learn, discuss, and Arise!
Our virtual Enrichment Classes focus on various topics pertinent to widowhood. Savvy presenters who are true subject-matter experts present four-to-six-week classes. There is a nominal charge for materials, printing, and mailing.
Our Arise Forum and our Enrichment Classes help to build a unique community of men and women in transition, but full of hope and confident that their future holds promise and fulfillment. Classes are normally offered 2-3 times per year.
