Wings for Widows Speaker Series featuring Chris Bentley and Kim Murray

February 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-6

Chris Bentley presents: ‘Legacy Planning – Are you Prepared for End-of Life?’

Many widows forget or postpone dealing with their own end-of-life decisions following the loss of their spouse.  Chris will give an overview of the process and some practical tips and things to consider, and will introduce his new guidebook and the enrichment class he will be teaching starting Feb 22nd.

Chris is a navy veteran and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with a full-service advisory and wealth management practice. As a financial advisor, Chris has helped many clients put their financial house in order after the loss of a loved one. After working with Liane Laurion, widowed in 2017, and hearing about how many women like her were struggling after losing their husbands, Chris realized he could do more, and founded Wings for Widows.

Chris has considerable experience with public charities. He was a board member with Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota for three years and an officer/board member with the Minnesota Chapter of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association for more than eight years. For more than a decade he has been an advocate, donor, and volunteer for other charitable organizations including Fraser, Pinky Swear, Mobility Worldwide, Cornerstone, Feed My Starving Children, and 360 Communities.

Also featuring Kim Murray who will present: ‘Widow Brain – What it is and Why it’s not a Problem’

Do you have a hard time remembering words, keep forgetting appointments or can’t complete simple tasks like you used to? Do you do silly things like put your car keys in the refrigerator or the milk in your pantry? It’s like your brain and critical thinking skills are on hiatus. And they are, sort-of.  Those disconnected, foggy feelings are what’s commonly referred to as “widow brain.” We’ll talk about what widow brain is, why many widows experience it, and why it’s not the problem you think it is.

Kim Murray is the creator of the popular national website Widow 411 which offers practical tips for widows surviving their new normal, including topics on grief, finances, relationships and self-care. Thousands of widows have subscribed and receive blog post updates, exclusive content, and additional goodies available only to subscribers.
