"It was the best presentation I've ever heard."
- Jim Blass, Meryl Lynch, 50-Year FPA Member, Ascent Conference, Minneapolis 2022
Chris Bentley is available to speak at your next group function or event. He is enthusiastic, passionate, and a subject matter expert in many areas of personal finance, but particularly in building wealth, investing, planning for retirement, leaving a legacy and dying with dignity.
Chris’ life story is as diverse and accomplished as you find – from river guide as a teen to hunting Russian submarines in the South China Sea in the Navy, from hiking Greece to skiing the Swiss Alps. Chris’ zest for adventure is infectious – his whitewater rafting, sailing, and biking have taken him from Mexico to Bali. Chris is a licensed ski instructor, certified scuba diver, and qualified to captain catamarans around the world.
After obtaining his Masters in Business Administration from the Carlson School, University of Minnesota, Chris worked for both Coca Cola and Pepsi. He then spent the next 15 years as a financial advisor, first with RBC Wealth Management and then with Ameriprise Financial Services. He earned his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) credentials in 2013. He went on to earn numerous designations, including Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), Certified Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA™).
Chris is an honor graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he played football and boxed. A serial entrepreneur, Chris founded Wings for Widows in 2018. Since then, Chris has written two books: The Legacy Planning & Conversation Guide, an Amazon International Bestseller, and The New Widows’ Guide to Financial Wellness. He has served on various nonprofit boards and continues to apply his energy to things that help change lives for the better. His heart is as big as his sense of curiosity and adventure.
