We are proud of the fact that Wings for Widows is an all-volunteer organization. Volunteering is the simplest way to support our mission. We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to get actively involved. Wings for Widows is a community-effort. Our best ambassadors are our volunteers.
Our greatest assets are our people – our volunteers who spend untold hours assisting grieving and overwhelmed widows in our community. Widows we have helped in the past now serve widows in need today. We are grateful for their experience, their tenacity and their compassion.
Losing a loved one is one of the most painful experiences life can throw at us. Help make a difference. Show your support. Contact us to learn more about how you can volunteer your time and talents.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help us with our mission. There are many ways to pitch in – from answering the phone to assembling gift baskets, from office chores to event planning. Whether you can give us a few hours or a whole day, we can use your help. Need hours for a service project? We can help. Need to get out of the house for a few hours? We’ll welcome you with open arms. Because there is much need out there, we have much need in here. Please contact Kari for more information.
No one but you has walked in your shoes. No one knows the pain of your loss more than you. Yet your experience is of critical value to us. You’ve made a journey no one wishes for, but that journey has given you the knowledge that can’t be taught – that road must be traveled. You can offer those just beginning their journey encouragement, hope, and promise. Nobody can do it as well as you, and that’s why we need you. If you’ve been a widow for at least two years and would like to help us, please contact Liane for more information.
Have you worked with widows and estate settlements in your practice? If you are a Certified Financial Planner professional and or have been licensed to practice for at least five years, we’d like to talk to you. This is pro bono work, but it may be the most rewarding work you’ve ever done. As the relationship matures, this initial work may lead to additional fee-for-service work. All coaching is done virtually when and where you like. Please contact Chris for more information.
