Losing a loved one is one of the most painful experiences life can throw at us. The death of a spouse is the most stressful event possible; life changes in a heartbeat. Our mission is to help new widows and widowers during this very uncertain and scary time. We help change lives by helping them navigate the financial trauma most experience following the loss of a spouse. This trauma could be the loss of income, moving into more affordable housing or moving in with relatives, putting children into different schools, or going back to work.
Volunteering is the simplest but most effective way to support our mission.
We are always looking for volunteers who are CFP-certified to work virtually, one-on-one with our widowed clients (men and women) as a financial coach. We also need volunteers who can meet and/or speak with prospective clients to help them understand our financial coaching program. If you are interested in joining our board of directors, contact Chris Bentley directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our largest event of the year is HopeFest 2022. We have many volunteer opportunities for this event in Plymouth, MN, on Sunday, August 21. We hope you’ll join us!
We are always seeking financial advisors with Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) credentials who want to “give back” to their communities. Because financial planning experience is a must, we only work with CFP® professionals. Join our team of nationwide coaches to serve the underserved widow community. To learn more, start with the Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) website here.
If you have a friendly disposition and a heart for helping the newly-widowed, please fill out this form and someone will contact you about volunteering as a financial paraplanner. A financial background is helpful, but not necessary.
We are always looking for professionals to join our Board of Directors. Requirements for all board members include attending 5 of 6 board meetings, joining at least one committee, and adhering to our policies. For more information, contact Chris Bentley at email@example.com.
HopeFest is a one-day summer music festival in the Twin Cities, MN created to bring families and friends together to enjoy great music and celebrate the power of HOPE.
