Guidance for Veterans
You've Served. Now We Want to Serve You.
You’ve dedicated yourself to serving our nation, and in your time of loss, Wings for Widows is here to serve you and your family. We extend our support to service members, veterans, and their immediate families from all branches of the military, across every era of service, regardless of discharge status. It’s our way of giving back to those who have given so much.
Losing a loved one is profoundly challenging—filled with confusion, loneliness, and pain. In the wake of such a loss, facing the multitude of decisions required can seem insurmountable. Our resources, including a comprehensive checklist and guidance, are designed to help you navigate the practical steps necessary during this difficult time. We encourage you to seek and accept support wherever you can find it, as you journey through this period of mourning and transition into the next chapter of your life.
For those connected to the military community, the Veterans Administration (VA) is often the first point of contact for claiming deserved benefits. The VA offers free beneficiary financial counseling services for up to 24 months for those who are eligible. However, if you find that you do not qualify for these services, Wings for Widows is ready to step in. We provide free assistance with financial and other practical matters, ensuring you’re not alone in this journey.
As an organization founded by a veteran, we hold a deep respect and understanding for the sacrifices made by military families. Let us honor your service with our commitment to your well-being during this time of need.
