Liane Laurion Named Volunteer of the Year 2020

One of the highlights during our 2020 Annual Benefit was announcing the very first recipient of our Volunteer of the Year Award.

Liane Laurion is our 2020 Volunteer of the Year.

Wings for Widows has nearly 30 volunteers today, but Liane was our very first volunteer. In fact, Liane and her husband David were the inspiration for Wings for Widows in 2018. Since then Liane has been instrumental in the formation and guidance of our every-evolving organization that stands alone in guiding widows to financial wellness at no cost. Currently, Liane manages our Widow Services programs that Liane herself developed, which include our Building Community Speaker Series, Grief Exploration group, and Widow Enrichment classes. Liane brings a widow’s insights, compassion and love to our organization and to the widows we serve. We are so blessed and grateful for all she does!

The purpose of this annual award is to recognize and honor an individual volunteer who has advanced Wings for Widows through his/her volunteer time and efforts. It recognizes someone who has gone the “extra mile” to serve our community and make an impact on our clients during the past year.

Wings for Widows’ Executive Director Chris Bentley presented a check to Liane during the Annual Benefit – $250 to the charitable organization of the honoree’s choice and $250 to the honoree, which Liane plans to donate to Wings for Widows.
