Why Become an Ameriprise Ambassador?

  • Support a Local, Recognized Public Charity: Wings for Widows is an Ameriprise Financial (and Foundation for Financial Planning) grantee, recognized as a five-star public charity.
  • Deep Ameriprise Connections: Wings for Widows was founded by Chris Bentley, a former Ameriprise advisor for nearly a decade and known to many within the Ameriprise community; Chris retired from Ameriprise in 2022 to become the Executive Director of Wings for Widows.
  • Professional and Business Advantages: Volunteering with Wings for Widows aligns with CFP® professional interests. According to a 2023 Foundation for Financial Planning survey, 99% of CFPs report significant satisfaction from pro bono service, 77% are motivated by giving back to the financial advisory profession, and 73% see positive impacts on their business.
  • Skills and Practices: The same survey found that 71% of CFP® professionals report gaining valuable skills and practices through exposure to new clients and issues. Volunteers will receive specialized training, and volunteer coaches will receive four hours of Continuing Education (CE) credit.
